Event description

More tickets released for Wednesday 21st & Friday 23rd September!

Did you know, less than 1% of clothes are recycled into new garments and 73% are burned or end up in landfill? Every year, millions of tonnes of clothes in good condition are thrown away completely unnecessarily.

That’s why Electrolux has teamed up with renowned Australian fashion designers, Romance Was Born, to bring you an exclusive event like no other.

Offering a unique tailoring and refresh experience, you will have the opportunity to bring along a garment from your wardrobe that needs a little love, sit down for a design consult with Romance Was Born (snacks included) and we’ll breathe new life into your item.

Why? Electrolux is on a mission to inspire you to break the pattern of clothing waste, giving you the tools to take better care of your clothes. After all, the most sustainable clothes are the ones you already have.

So come along, learn about how you can be a be kinder to the planet by taking care of your clothes and get a refreshed garment while you’re doing it. We hope to see you there!

How it works:

  1. Select the date and timeslot you’d like to come to (we’re also open for walk-ins)
  2. On the day, sit down for a design consult with Romance Was Born to talk about what you’d like to do with your garment. Don’t worry if you don’t have any ideas though - we can help with that!
  3. Grab a coffee and snack and walk around the store to learn more about how you can (and why you should) Break the Pattern.
  4. Our tailors will work around the clock to breathe new life into your garment and once refreshed, we’ll send it back to you ready to start its second life.

What type of garment can I bring?

A favourite shirt, pants, dress, jacket, you name it, it’s welcome. That said, we want to help as many people Break the Pattern of clothing waste as possible - so please be mindful - while Romance Was Born certainly are design magicians, we sadly can’t refresh your long loved wedding dress into a cropped jacket.

This activation is part of a global campaign undertaken by Electrolux to inspire consumers to break the pattern and take better care of their clothes. Globally, Electrolux has collaborated with Swedish fashion designer duo, Rave Review to create a unique collection made from discarded clothing from the world’s second largest garment graveyard - The Atacama Desert.
