Elevate student success with Canvas's differentiated settings
Event description
In order to support personalised learning, Canvas now has differentiated settings that enable you to assign modules, pages and assessments to individuals or sections.
Personalised learning features enable you to set up additional support or extension work for individuals without cluttering or adding to the cognitive load of others in the class. The feature will soon be available for Canvas groups thus allowing differentiated group work such as alternative group projects.
Learning objectives
In this workshop, you will be supported to:
analyse a teaching module to see where different content could be assigned to different learners
present different content pages to different students in a course based on pre-requisite assumptions
present different modules to different students or sections in a course based on pre-requisite assumptions
set up differentiated assessments for different cohorts such as remote online vs face-to-face
set up differentiated content pages for a limited number of advanced learners.
Testimonials
"Session was relevant and concise. Kym demonstrated the settings and its appearance from both staff and student perspectives (latter often being a little trickier to do). Also opened up for discussion about potential uses which is always helpful." -Participant from Faculty of Health and Medical Science.
