Elevate your Allyship series
Event description
We’re hosting an exclusive series of events designed to deepen your understanding and strengthen your practice as an ally.
Open to current members of the Monash LGBTIQA+ Ally Network and those wanting to get involved in the Network, the 'Elevate your Allyship' series is an opportunity for us to come together, learn, and build our knowledge in LGBTIQA+ inclusion, empowerment and celebration. Coordinated by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Team, the series will be hosted in a ‘lunch and learn’ style format online.
Upcoming sessions
Thursday 23 October 2025, 12-1pm AEDT
Join Professor Paula Gerber and Professor Tanja Junkers for a discussion on trans rights and allyship, in light of the release of Professor Gerber’s new book: Sex, Gender & Identity: Trans Rights in Australia. Come along to hear more about experiences of trans and gender diverse communities, the local and global trends impacting trans rights, and how we as allies and LGBTIQA+ community members can strengthen our allyship in this space.
Have an idea for a topic?
The vision is that this is a collaborative series where you – members of the LGBTIQA+ Ally Network – tell us what topic you would like to learn more about in the context of allyship, or which guest speakers you’d like to invite, with the hope that you may even want to host a session yourself! Got ideas? Send us an email at pride@monash.edu
