Elevate Your Leadership: Cultural Intelligence Workshop Series - Part 2 [December ONLINE]
Event description
Are you ready to deepen your understanding and create true belonging in your workplace or classroom?
Join us for the second workshop in our transformative five-part series on Cultural Intelligence Education. This two-hour professional development session, led by skilled First Nations facilitator Tammy, will guide you through the next steps in building inclusive, culturally aware environments.
Session Focus: Indigenous Ways
Begin to unpack worldviews and understand Indigenous Ways of Being, Thinking, and Doing. Develop a deeper understanding as we dive into a brief colonial timeline, exploring how colonial approaches were intentional in their outcomes, disrupting, disconnecting, and displacing Indigenous Peoples across the world. Walk away with strategies to develop greater understanding, empathy, and connection with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Key Focus Areas:
- Beyond Indigenous Contexts: While our focus is on Indigenous peoples, true belonging is universal. We often create spaces based on our own needs and cultural reference points. This workshop will help you recognize and transcend these biases.
- Emotional and Cultural Intelligence: Discover how enhancing emotional intelligence alongside cultural intelligence can lead to profound transformation. Move beyond tokenism to achieve genuine, lasting change.
- Commitment to the Process: Understand that there is no ‘silver bullet.’ True change requires a long-term commitment and personal effort, best supported by professionals in this space.
- Psychological Safety: Learn in a safe, supportive environment where you can ask any question, no matter how ‘silly’ it may seem. Change happens when we step out of our comfort zones, but it’s crucial to do so in a space where you feel secure.
Each participant will receive a PDF workbook.
