We’re sorry to advise that, due to an injury, Elizabeth Knox is unable to travel and will no longer be able to visit Kerikeri for her planned events in September. This means that the writing workshop and in-conversation event are cancelled.
If you have purchased a ticket, you don’t need to do anything. Your ticket will be fully refunded through Humanitix, with the refund returned to your original payment method.
We wish Elizabeth a smooth recovery and look forward to welcoming her at a future date if possible. If we are able to rebook the events, we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as a new date is confirmed.

Join Elizabeth Knox in conversation with award-winning poet Lynn Jenner for an afternoon of stories, ideas and insight.
Lynn will draw Elizabeth into a wide-ranging conversation about her remarkable literary career spanning more than three decades, the stories behind some of her best-loved novels, her creative process, and the deeply personal experiences that shaped her acclaimed new memoir, Night, Ma.
Whether you're a long-time reader, an aspiring writer, or simply enjoy hearing great authors talk about books and the writing life, this is an afternoon not to be missed.

Elizabeth Knox
Elizabeth Knox is the bestselling author of fourteen novels, including The Vintner's Luck, Dreamhunter, Dreamquake, Mortal Fire, The Absolute Book and, most recently, Night, Ma. She is also the author of three autobiographical novellas and the essay collection The Love School. An Arts Foundation Laureate, Elizabeth received the Prime Minister's Award for Literary Achievement (Fiction) in 2019, was appointed a Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) in 2020, and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Literature from Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
Lynn Jenner
Lynn Jenner is an award-winning poet, essayist and author based in Kerikeri. Her latest poetry collection, The Gum Trees of Kerikeri, won the 2025 Kathleen Grattan Poetry Award and was published by Otago University Press in 2026. She is also the author of Dear Sweet Harry, winner of the NZSA Jessie Mackay Best First Book of Poetry Award, Lost and Gone Away, shortlisted in the Ockham New Zealand Book Awards, and Peat.

- Can I attend just one event?
Yes. You're welcome to book either the workshop or the in-conversation event, or both.
- Can I buy tickets at the door?
The memoir writing workshop must be booked in advance due to limited capacity. Tickets for the in-conversation event may be available at the door if seats remain. EFTPOS will be available. To avoid disappointment, we recommend booking in advance.
- Is the workshop suitable for beginners?
Absolutely. Whether you're just starting out or already writing memoir, you'll gain valuable insights and practical techniques.
- Will books be available to purchase?
Yes, Elizabeth's books will be available for purchase, and there will be an opportunity for book signing after the in-conversation event.
- Is there parking?
Yes. Parking is available at Cornerstone Church.
