Ella Hooper - Summer Tour
Event description
Ella Hooper and her trio are hitting the road this summer bringing a sharp, heartfelt edge to her ever-evolving take on Americana, and are playing Peninsula SongRiders at Westernport Yacht Club on Saturday February 28.
Ella’s gift for story-telling and humour shines as she fronts a dynamic band, laced with fiddle, slide guitar, warm group harmonies and more than a little grit.
Playing some favourites from Small Town Temple the album that debuted at No.1 on the Australian Country chart, Ella will also be sharing a sneak peek of new music recorded in Nashville in 2025.
There are bar room stompers, spectral ballads with a contemporary edge, and hooks sharp enough to draw blood.
Call it Americana, call it alt-country, call it what you like. Hooper puts it this way: “Can you really ‘go country’ if you’re from the country in the first place?”
With special guest David M Western.
A depth and a quiet pull is found in the music of David M Western. Even his hell-storm, stadium-filling country-rock numbers can deliver a gut punch you never saw coming. Moments of reflection, cutting witicism and strange comically driven anecdotes will be thrown at you from every direction. David M Western will be simultaneously driving you while keeping you calm from the passenger seat.
