Embedding Aboriginal Perspectives into Early Childhood Curriculums - Webinar

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Embedding Aboriginal perspectives in early childhood curriculums is a multifaceted approach and is a combination of both pedagogy and practice. Our Aboriginal pedagogy workshop supports educators to teach through culture and not just about it. For non-Indigenous educators this will also include fostering an understanding of how one's world view and ways of knowing and doing can greatly differ from the Aboriginal children that they are potentially teaching. By culturally contextualising early childhood curriculums and topics of enquiry educators are supporting Aboriginal children to thrive in the early years and on into formal schooling.

This session will:

  • Offer insight into various Aboriginal pedagogies
  • Explain the protocols using Aboriginal pedagogies
  • Show case studies and stories of practice
  • Practical demonstration of inclusive programming and planning

Duration: 2 hours.

Training Presenter: Jessica Staines - Koori Curriculum (Aboriginal Early Childhood Training & Consultancy)
