Embodied Ecologies – Guided Dance Flow in the Botanic Gardens
Event description
Embodied Ecologies – Guided Dance Flow in the Botanic Gardens
Across three weekends during Nature Festival 2025, Embodied Ecologies invites participants to take part in guided group dance improvisations encouraging flow, held in different environments within the Botanic Gardens. These movement sessions will respond to the rich diversity of the gardens’ landscapes—from native flora and European trees to the lush, immersive atmosphere of a tropical glasshouse setting.
These sessions are designed to foster an embodied connection to nature. As we understand that attention directs energy, these sessions offer a chance to intentionally tune in to the environment, using movement as a way to ground and reflect on one's inner landscape connecting to the many ideas and inspirations sparked by Nature Festival’s broader program of talks and activities.
Led by experienced facilitator, dancer and arts therapist, Tanya Voges: each session offers a gentle and inclusive introduction to improvisational dance. These are open to people of all ages and abilities—no previous dance experience required. The focus is on play, presence, and connection, rather than performance.
