Emergency Preparedness for Families Webinar
Event description
Head, Heart and Hands, and Port Macquarie psychologist Mariane Power are facilitating a online hands on session to equip parents and families with skills to support children during and after a natural disaster.
The Hastings region has experienced numerous severe weather events in recent years, including flooding, catastrophic bushfires and drought.
The interactive workshop hosted via webinar will explore how to support children before, during and after an extreme weather event, and address practical aspects of preparation such as packing a go bag, identifying safer spaces and strategies to build psychological resilience.
The session will help parents answer their child’s questions about disasters, recognise the signs that a child is struggling and provide information about how to get support.
Wednesday, 4 August 2021, 7:00pm-8:30pm
