Emergency Redi workshop + community dinner
Event description
Want to know how to be prepared in case of emergency?
Join the Australian Red Cross for this EmergencyRedi workshop to give you all the tools and tips you'll need!
Then join Welcoming Australia, City of Port Adelaide Enfield, STTARS and Asian Australians for Climate Solutions for our monthly Welcoming Community Dinner, where we'll share food, fun and friendship!
EmergencyRedi workshops support communities to complete a REDiPlan – an all-hazards tool developed by the Red Cross that supports communities to consider what they need to put in place to be prepared for disasters in their local context. Participants learn about the practical, psychological, and social steps they can take to prepare for emergencies and minimise the impacts of disasters and other crises on their lives.
EmergencyRedi workshops cover:
What is preparedness?
Why it is important to be prepared for emergencies
Preparing your mind for emergencies
How to assess your own risks and capacities
How to prepare your household for an emergency
Guidance on completing your own emergency RediPlan
Other ways you can take action to prepare yourself, your household and your community
