Emerging Leaders Breakfast | Perth | 2026

From Project to Port: WA’s Freight Future and the Skills to Deliver It.

Transport Australia’s Emerging Leaders Breakfast brings early-career transport and infrastructure professionals together to build connections and learn from industry leaders.

Western Australia’s freight network links major projects, resources, communities and global markets. This conversation will explore how road and rail corridors, ports, procurement, supply chains, road safety and workforce capability must work together to keep freight moving.

Attendees will hear practical perspectives on taking projects from planning through delivery and into operation, as well as the skills emerging professionals will need to help shape WA’s freight future.

With no assigned seating, the breakfast offers a relaxed setting to meet peers, expand your professional network and make valuable industry connections.

Transport Australia’s Emerging Leaders program is proudly sponsored by CPB Contractors.

Jason Flowerdew, Managing Director, Smart Construction & Development

Jason has over 30 years' experience in the construction industry in South East Asia and Western Australia. A born and bred Western Australian from an agriculture background, he completed engineering at UWA, but it was work experience with Thiess that solidified a love for construction. Opportunity enabled Jason to work in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia before returning to WA for what was then the biggest gig in town – the Graham Farmer Freeway project – in the mid '90s. Since then he has been involved in the many facets of the construction industry, from small business owner, to operational, delivery, and more recently corporate roles. Jason is a Chartered Professional Engineer, Fellow and past Western Australian President of Engineers Australia and is looking forward to representing CCF on behalf of the construction industry in Western Australia.
