EMILY LUBITZ

“Emily's exquisite, brushed-velvet vocal conjures a steady neck-hair raising waltz” - The Age

“Strikingly assured” - Rolling Stone Australia

“What is it about Lubitz’s voice that makes it so incredibly captivating? Her timbre is otherworldly; hopeful and vulnerable, yet potent.” – Beat Magazine

After more than a decade releasing albums and touring with award winning indie-folk darlings Tinpan Orange, Emily Lubitz has stepped out on her own. Her debut EP, ‘Begin Again’ was released in 2022 to critical acclaim.

Lubitz is a veteran of the scene, having performed on some of the world’s biggest stages and premiere international festivals, appeared on SBS’s Rockwiz and sang the viral sensation, Dumb Ways to Die. She has collaborated with the likes of Paul Kelly, Martha Wainwright, Jen Cloher and Mama Kin, and yet her solo work is imbued with the raw energy of a breakthrough artist.

Her debut album is currently being recorded, with a release date likely to be around Summer 2025.

ANDREA KIRWIN & CLAIRE EVELYNN

Andrea Kirwin will be hosting and supporting her friend Emily at this show. Having travelled performing on the Folk Festival circuit since 2007, Andrea has built a career around her soulful, impressive vocals and her engaging and often hilarious stories based on her life growing up between Australia and Fiji. Having released multiple independent albums, Andrea now spends most of her time hosting and promoting shows as well as programming for Festivals. Andrea was invited to perform a Woodford Folk Festival Small Halls Tour of QLD back in 2021 and her wife Claire joined her for the tour and performed on a few songs. Since then the couple have built up a beautiful setlist of songs that reflect the depth and beauty of their 16 year long relationship. Performing on Guitar, Cigar box, harmonica and stomp, Andrea creates a beautiful unique sound with her gospel style vocals and heartfelt lyrics. Claire Evelynn's harp playing is an ethereal addition and the combination is truly heavenly.
