Emmanuel College Bannockburn Dinner
Event description
The Bannockburn Dinner is a long-established tradition at Emmanuel College, to acknowledge the strong bond that exists between Emmanuel College and the Society of St Andrew of Scotland. Many of the founders of the Society were closely involved with Emmanuel College and the Society has been one of the College’s benefactors over many years.
The College has hosted the Bannockburn Dinner since 1984 (a ‘Bannockburn Bursary’ was established back in 1969) with a goal to encourage, acknowledge and reward the valuable contributions that individuals make within our community. On this night we recognise students who have sought to serve one another and the community with a spirit of service and leadership, and their determined effort in giving back, across community, sporting and cultural activities.
In 2024, to mark 40 years of the Bannockburn Dinner, the College will be announcing and awarding the first recipients of our inaugural Alumni Excellence Awards, and inviting alumni as guests for the first time to return to Emmanuel to enjoy this traditional Scottish evening.
