Emotional CPR Training
Event description
Learn more about eCPR in this 2-day in person training in Geelong. Registrations are by invitation only.
What is eCPR?
eCPR, or Emotional CPR, can help us support each other through emotional crises in three steps:
- Connecting;
- Empowering, and
- Revitalising.
eCPR helps us develop meaningful relationships through our shared values and experiences. It promotes voice and choice, honouring a person’s right to express what help would look like for them. eCPR complements professional help by offering a community-focused strengths-based approach.
eCPR embodies trauma-informed values such as peer support, emotional security, inclusiveness, intersectionality, and hope.
Who is eCPR for?
eCPR is for everyone. You don't need to have any previous training to be able to learn eCPR.
eCPR is designed and delivered by people with lived experience. It offers a first-person perspective on what might help, and what might not, during an emotional crisis. eCPR is a complementary approach to clinical or medical models.
What to expect
This training focuses on experiential learning, or learning by doing. You can expect to:
- Learn more about the three steps and seven intentions of eCPR;
- Learn to assess if you are in a position to apply eCPR;
- Identify an emotional crisis and how to use the three steps of eCPR through situational analyses and roleplays; and
