Emotional CPR Training

Event description

Description

Emotional CPR (eCPR) is an educational program designed to teach people how to assist others through an emotional crisis by following three simple steps: Connecting, Empowering, and Revitalising.

eCPR is based on the principles shared by several support approaches: Trauma-Informed Care, Counseling after disasters, Peer Support, Emotional Intelligence, Suicide Prevention, and cultural attunement. It was developed with input from individuals who have learned how to recover and grow from emotional crises. They have the wisdom to inform this process through first-hand experience.

Connecting:

The Connecting process of eCPR is heart-to-heart and involves deepening listening skills, practising presence, and creating a sense of safety for the person experiencing a crisis.

Empowering:

ECPR takes a different approach that doesn't aim to fix, judge, or advise. Instead, it empowers by recognising the strength and wholeness in others, creating conditions for mutual empowerment.

Revitalising:

The Revitalizing process of eCPR is about re-connecting with one's vital centre, leading to a sense of renewed energy, vitality, and/or groundedness. It's a journey towards a more balanced and empowered state.

Participants will learn how to
:
* Reframe crisis as an opportunity
* Learn the importance of taking care of themselves so that they can support others
* Facilitate the other person’s access to inner wisdom
* Encourage the people they serve to take steps in the direction of their dreams
* Inspire motivation and change
* Help others tap into their courage and power

Participants will receive training manuals and other resources to guide their participation in the training sessions. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the training, fully endorsed by the National Empowerment Centre.
