Event description

Do you have an idea for a new art project? Do you want to apply for funding but don’t know where to start? Every year, Merri-bek City Council offers the Flourish Arts Grants Program to support the local arts and culture sector. This program makes dedicated project funding available via application to individual artists and organisations living or working in Merri-bek. Facilitated by artist, writer and fundraising specialist Liv Satchell, ‘Empowered Grant-Writing’ is a two-hour workshop that will break down this grant-writing application process, as well as other forms of grant-writing you might encounter as an artist.

This session will reframe grant-writing as a tool for understanding and communicating your creative ideas. It will unpack formal ‘grant-writing’ language and work through previously successful applications to local council, state and philanthropic funding bodies as case studies to consider for your own project. There will be the opportunity to bring questions to the session, as well as follow-up contact post-workshop to tailor this process to your own projects.

Event details:

Date/time: Wednesday 4 June, 6.30pm - 8.30pm

This workshop is presented as part of Making it in Merri-bek, Arts Merri-bek's yearly professional development series of artists and arts workers.
