In this workshop, facilitated by Volunteering Victoria, you will learn about your rights as a volunteer and how to have important conversations with your volunteer manager.
The workshop will explore in depth, how to navigate setting boundaries and ensure volunteer life balance, and where to go for support and more information.
As volunteers, you will gain a strong understanding of how to have conversations with your manager about your rights, boundaries, flexible arrangements, and accessibility needs. This workshop will inspire you to start these conversations with confidence and maintain them, empowering you to advocate for yourself.
Topics covered:
- General overview of volunteering, including your 'rights and responsibilities' as a volunteer
- Understanding what a boundary is and why they are important
- Learning how to look after yourself by establishing and maintaining boundaries
- Navigating conversations around flexible arrangements and accessibility
- Effective communication and giving feedback well
- Group discussions and questions
Suitable for volunteers and/or Wyndham residents who are interested in becoming volunteers.
