The Saltwater Freshwater First Nations Professional Development Forum is set to take place on Monday 24th March 2025 at The Gallery in Coffs Harbour, 2450.
This exciting FREE event brings together a diverse group of First Nations artists for a day of enriching workshops, panels, and networking opportunities aimed at fostering professional growth and collaboration within the First Nations creative community.
This year's forum will feature Alison Williams (Artist & Creative Director Yarrawarra), Arts Law Solicitorand Jo-Anne Driessens (Artists in the Black), Georgia Mokak (NAVA First Nations OutreachCoordinator), and Rachel Piercy (Manning Reginal Gallery). The speakers are renowned experts in areas such as; creating artist bios, licencing and copywrite, gallery expectations of work and pricing.
With a focus on practical strategies and understanding, the forum will offer valuable insights for artists looking to expand their careers, navigate the art world, and connect with peers and mentors.
This event is supported by Arts Mid North Coast through the Create NSW Regional Audience Development Program.

Workshops on topics such as working with galleries. A discussion designed for early-career visual
artists on how to self-profile and present work for exhibitions. Advice on exhibiting work in galleries.
Networking Opportunities to connect with other artists, curators, and industry professionals.
Panel Discussion with successful artists sharing their experiences and insights.
Q&A Session offering attendees the chance to engage directly with experts.
The First Nations Professional Development Forum is open to artists of all disciplines, including visual arts, performing arts, design, and more. Whether you're just starting your artistic journey or are a
seasoned professional, this event provides a wealth of knowledge to help advance your career.
Complimentary to the Monday event NAVA will also provide bespoke one on one sessions for First Nations creatives from 10am - 3pm on Tuesday 25th March in the Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance
office boardroom at 8 Park Avenue Coffs Harbour. These private sessions will go for 30 mins. Up to 10 sessions available, bookings essential.
