    Event description

As part of the Network for Community Engagement and Carnegie Classification Australia offerings, we invite you to take part in the workshop "Empowering Respect and Relationships".

Participate in this cultural awareness workshop to help you improve your community engagement practices with Aboriginal Communities. This workshop will help you build trust and relationships between people from different cultures. A safe place for everyone to learn truths, tools, concepts, ideas, experiences, and cultural differences, and develop respect and relationships.

Learning in an open, honest forum, to discuss, ask questions and gain an understanding of how Indigenous and non-Indigenous can work together whether it be within workplaces, community, not-for-profit sectors, education and health.

Gain practical insights that you can take back to your workplace and put into action.

Knowledge is the first step, making a difference continues the journey.

    Unique topic includes:

    • Setting the Scene
    • Rapport Building
    • Aboriginal Insights Definitions
    • Diverse Aboriginal Cultures
    • Truth & Reconciliation
    • Stereotypes & Assumptions
    • Respect & Relationships

Mutual Respect starts with Understanding and Empathy.

Join us on this Learning journey.

*Please note that if the event is full you can still join the waiting list or email carnegieengagement@uts.edu.au. If there is enough demand, we can potentially organise a second workshop.
