Description

Empowering Women Through Shared Knowledge

Is a collaborative leadership and networking event that brings together women from diverse professional, academic, and community backgrounds to share experiences, insights, and inspiration. Hosted by the Lyceum Club and Hemsley Consulting and proudly supported by KPMG New Zealand as headline sponsors and the University of Waikato - Tauranga campus as venue sponsors, the event aims to empower women through shared experiences, practical insights, and meaningful relationships.

Centered on the theme "Empowering Women Through Shared Knowledge and Collective Strength," the evening will feature four distinguished speakers:

Attendees will hear from:

  • Dr Riri Ellis, Associate Dean Māori at the University of Waikato, who will share perspectives on strong foundations and extraordinary possibilities, drawing on her experience in Māori governance, education, economic development, and empowering future generations of leaders.

  • Donna Hemsley, Founder of Hemsley Consulting, who will share insights on community impact and future leadership, drawing on her international experience in executive coaching, leadership development, and empowering individuals and organisations to create meaningful change.

  • Cassandra Greeff, Group Financial Controller at Zespri International, who will explore innovation and career empowerment, reflecting on her leadership journey in finance, sustainability, governance, and creating long-term value through purpose-driven leadership.

  • Natalie Berkett, Partner at KPMG New Zealand, who will discuss personal leadership and future pathways, sharing lessons from her progression from graduate to partner and the importance of mentorship, continuous learning, and creating environments where people can thrive.

Through keynote presentations and a facilitated panel discussion, attendees will gain practical insights into leadership, innovation, career development, community contribution, and building pathways for future generations.

Expected Outcomes

  • Stronger professional and community connections.

  • Increased confidence and leadership inspiration.

  • Practical insights into career growth and future opportunities.

  • A shared commitment to supporting and uplifting other women.

Event Vision

"When women share knowledge, they create new opportunities. When women support one another, they strengthen communities. Together, we can build a future where every woman has the confidence, capability, and connection to lead with purpose and inspire others to do the same."
