Encaustic Workshop with Shannon Mello

Encaustic painting is a process of painting using beeswax and tree resin, and melting it into layers.

In this four-hour session, students will experiment with encaustic paints, transfers, shellac burn, and layering. Students will walk away with a practice piece, an 8”x8” cradled panel ready to hang, and an ornament on aspen wood.

Prior experience with encaustic basics is preferred but not required. Come ready to get messy and creative. Looking forward to sharing my passion with you!

MATERIALS
All supplies are included. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy in, bring your own drink of choice and Shannon will supply some light snacks.
