Energy Efficient Demonstration Home tour
Event description
This demonstration home explains and shows visitors firsthand what they should look for to easily achieve a more energy efficient and sustainable home, that is more comfortable to live in and cheaper to run. It includes a range of sustainability features, such as:
- Passive solar design to an 8.2 star rating under NatHERS
- Double and triple glazed thermally broken aluminium windows
- Sustainable materials, e.g. compressed timber cladding, Australian and recycled timbers
- Good draft sealing and insulation
- No downlights
- Efficient appliances
- A grass driveway
- A green roof
- And much more…
At this tour, Paul and Jodie will also explain how the house was wrapped and sealed, using their demonstration trailer as a visual tool.
