The Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging in the Social and Behavioral Sciences (DIBS) committee presents, “How to effectively engage community partners in public health research: The Boost Your Shot community-based social marketing campaign to increase COVID-19 booster vaccination.”
In this presentation, Dr. Bass, Dr. Gardiner, and Ms. Collier-Jefferson will discuss their recent collaboration that aimed to increase COVID booster rates in the Kensington area through close partnerships between academic researchers and community agencies and a novel social marketing intervention approach. In addition to sharing their project findings, the speakers will discuss how to build effective academic-community partnerships, strategies for promoting community engagement in research studies or field-based projects, tips for incorporating bilingual materials into studies or services, and more. The session is designed to appeal to students, researchers, teaching faculty, and community members alike.
