Engaging with diverse communities

Event description

Did you know that Australia is one of the most ethnically diverse countries in the world, with 26% of our population born overseas? We are now a nation of people from over 190 different countries speaking more than 300 languages.

With some 21% of us speaking a language other than English at home, it’s imperative that organisations communicating with the public take this into consideration to ensure inclusive, localised communications that reach all parts of our diverse society.

But how do we ensure these communities feel seen? How do we make sure our campaigns and communications are genuinely inclusive? How can we find the insights we need to understand who we need to be talking to, and how to do it?

Communicating with diverse communities is about much more than just translating materials. It’s about localising them so they resonate, and establishing relationships with multicultural community leaders and influencers who have deep connections with the communities you need to reach.

In this masterclass with ThinkHQ and CultureVerse, you’ll learn how to identify the communities you need to engage with, how best to engage with them and how to diversify and level-up your communications, campaigns and fundraising.

Topics covered:

  • Recognising the importance of engaging with diverse audiences
  • Identifying the audiences you need to engage with and how to go about it
  • Developing inclusive communications and campaigns with these audiences in mind
  • Understanding the power of community engagement in fundraising

Who is this masterclass for?

This masterclass is for everyone working in the social sector - whether you’re a CEO, a communicator or a program officer, we all need to understand how best to identify, engage and communicate with diverse audiences

What will you get out of this session?
