Engineered Bamboo CPD Online November

With timber shortages affecting projects across Australia and around the world, there has never been a more important moment to explore the potential of engineered bamboo. This CPD session gives architects, designers and specifiers the knowledge they need to confidently integrate bamboo into contemporary practice, both as a technical material solution and as a regenerative design choice.

Hosted by Jennifer Snyders, CEO of House of Bamboo® and President of the Bamboo Society of Australia, the session dives deep into the full manufacturing journey of engineered bamboo, unpacking its structural performance, sustainability credentials, and certification pathways. Attendees gain a clear understanding of bamboo’s environmental and economic advantages, its capacity to outperform many traditional materials, and the practical steps required to specify it as a reliable alternative to hardwoods.

The training highlights the importance of embedding sustainability at the earliest stages of a project, showing how thoughtful material selection and nature-forward design approaches can transform outcomes for buildings, landscapes and communities.

Jennifer brings more than two decades of expertise to the session. Trained in architecture at UNSW and internationally recognised as a World Bamboo Ambassador, she combines technical insight with hands-on experience to develop innovative applications of engineered bamboo. Beyond her leadership at House of Bamboo®, she works across Australia on regenerative bamboo initiatives that support reforestation, land restoration and sustainable rural economies.

Private CPD sessions are also available for studios (minimum attendance required), delivered either in person in Sydney or online, providing teams with tailored guidance on integrating engineered bamboo into future work.
