Enoggera Reservoir: Sit, Swim, Social

Escape the heat and join the jera social queer community for a picnic + swim at Enoggera Reservoir on Sat Oct 11 from 1pm.

If swimming isn’t your speed, no stress - we’ll have picnic blankets and you can soak up the sun and the vibes on the shore.

Whatever floats your boat, you’re welcome here. This is a free event, so all you need to do is RSVP to let us know you're coming!

LOCATION: Swimming area of Enoggera Resovoir.

HOW TO GET THERE: Public transport is available, and there is also some parking available at the Walkabout Creek Discovery centre. It can get quite busy there on the weekend, so we recommend carpooling if you can to try and reduce the chaos.

From the Walkabout Creek discovery centre, there is a path down to the water - there are signs there as part of the discovery centre.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING? Bring your own swimmers, sunscreen, picnic blanket etc! BYO water bottle + snacks. Bring enough water - the water available in taps is not potable and is not suitable for drinking.

DISCLAIMER: This is a free community event - you are responsible for your own safety. We are not lifeguards etc - we are just facilitating this as a chance for people to make friends and get to know other people in the queer community! This is an outdoor environment, there are natural hazards around (like insects, snakes, and the infamous catfish). There are no lifeguards there.

This is a free event not faciliated or connected with SEQ Water or Enoggera Reservoir, so we can't guarantee parking or anything!
