Opening night: The people behind the Tweed’s food culture

Join us at the opening night of Entwined as we celebrate the people shaping the Tweed’s food culture. Entwined is a major photographic exhibition by Rob Palmer – winner of the prestigious National Photographic Portrait Prize in 2020.

Created especially for Savour The Tweed, the Entwined collection brings together large-scale portraits of the farmers, growers, fishers, chefs, makers, producers and other characters who help shape the way the Tweed grows, cooks and eats.

Over a series of trips to the region, Palmer photographed people where they live and work, visiting them on farms, in kitchens, workshops, restaurants and out on Country. Together, the portraits tell a story, not just about food, but about the people, relationships and landscape.

Exhibition opening night party

For one night only, many of the people photographed for Entwined will gather at M|Arts to celebrate the opening of the exhibition and the start of Savour The Tweed 2026.

Food writer and cookbook author Magdalena Roze will host conversations with some of the people featured in the portraits, as they share their stories from the Tweed’s culinary scene. A local DJ will take to the deck to spin some cool tunes and fun vibes.

Included in the ticket price is a welcome drink on arrival.
