Description

Each term the Environment Canterbury Youth Rōpū host an Enviro Youth Meet Up for rangatahi (young people) interested in the environment and civics.

We have invited an electoral commission youth advisor to attend this event to discuss why elections matter, why we should vote if/when we're old enough to do so, and how to enrol on the voting register.

There will be lots of yummy kai, lots of time to connect with like-minded rangatahi, and lots of fun to be had. We hope to see you there!

The ECan Youth Rōpū is a body of people aged 14-24 who are enthusiastic about the environment, civics and empowering young people across Canterbury/Waitaha.

Made up of 18 members, the Youth Rōpū was formed to facilitate a two-way relationship between young people and decision-makers in Waitaha. The Youth Rōpū gives young people in the Waitaha region an opportunity to promote the issues they care about.

Our main events are our Inter-School Enviro Hui where we aim to bring together environment groups from across Waitaha! We also organise plantings, workshops and engagements with council. Read more about us here!
