This event starts earlier than usual at 6pm with bike demos in the carpark out front, followed by supper and a discussion panel, then a short film ‘Bike V’s Car’ and the feature ‘Motherload’ at 8pm.
The final event will focus on bicycles as a viable low-carbon transport option, and prior to the screening local not-for-profit Good Cycles will have demonstrator models for people to try out. The local community is invited to bring along their own cargo bikes and electric bikes to show off, and share their experiences.
MOTHERLOAD captures a new mother’s quest to understand the increasing isolation and disconnection of modern life, its planetary impact, and how cargo bikes could be an antidote.
Motherload follows director and new mother Liz Canning on her quest to understand the increasing tension between modern life and our hunter-gatherer DNA, and how cargo bikes offer a solution.
As Liz meets the people behind this push to replace cars with purpose-built bikes, she learns about the history and potential future of the bicycle as the “ultimate social revolutionizer.”
In discovering the cargo bike world, she finds that sustainability is not necessarily about compromise and sacrifice.
Supper is included, and bring gold coins for the raffle - wine, books, bike gear from Trailhead Bike Co in Anglesea and more!
Please feel free to forward the invitation - all welcome!
PS If you would like to bring your cargo bike, trailer bike, box bike or what ever along to show it off and chat to people about it, please do!
