Event description
The Department of Health supports water recycling as a sustainable and beneficial option to manage our valuable water resources. Recycled wastewater from sewage, sewer mining, greywater and industry can be treated to the required standards for different beneficial uses, including enhancement of environmental flows, irrigation of public open space irrigation and agriculture, toilet flushing, dust suppression and augmentation of drinking water supplies. All recycled water schemes in WA must be approved by the Chief Health Officer prior to implementation.
The webinar will focus on wastewater reuse in WA, with topics to include:
- wastewater management in WA
- recycled wastewater in WA
- potable uses of recycled water
- non-potable uses of recycled water
- national and WA guidelines
- recycled wastewater regulatory framework
The webinar will be held online, on 19 November 2024, 9am to 11am.
