EOI: LGBTQIA+ People With Disability Focus Group
Event description
Queer Family is excited to be teaming up with Byron Shire Council to ensure the voices of LGBTQIA+ people with disability are included in the Byron Shire Council’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP).
We’re seeking expressions of interest from LGBTQIA+ people with disability who are interested in participating in a Queer Family focus group on 8th
February 2025, 1-3pm in Mullumbimby. It's a chance to connect with others, share experiences, learn from one another, and advocate for a more inclusive future!
We want to hear from people:
- with disability, both visible and hidden;
- with a mental health condition
There are only 12 places available, so we’ll be contacting everyone who expresses interest in attending to ensure we give places to a variety of folks with different experiences.
This is a paid gig folks, with each participant receiving $120 for their valuable time and expertise in ways the Byron Shire could be improved for LGBTQIA+ people with disability.
Byron Shire Council has completed their Auslan interpreted focus groups, so unfortunately this will not be an Auslan interpreted event.
