Event description

Imagine stepping into a serene, sunlit glade surrounded by the calming hum of nature - the gentle rustle of trees, the chirping of birds, and the soft breeze brushing through the air. It’s a perfect afternoon for a pop-up picnic experience, where the vibrant tastes, colors, and aromas of a Mediterranean feast come together in a celebration of health, vitality, and conscious living.

The Feast:

The centerpiece of the picnic is a Mediterranean feast - a spread brimming with fresh, wholesome ingredients that epitomize the health-conscious Mediterranean diet. There are vibrant bowls of:

  • Mezze platter: Home made dips: Taramasalata, Tzatziki, Hummus with marinated olives, crunchy vegetable sticks, whole-grain crispy pita
  • Fresh salad: A traditional Greek salad with an Australian twist à la Adam will be prepared on site for you
  • Shared menu: Roasted cauliflower with home made falafel, Grilled Eggplant seasoned to perfection with fresh herbs and nuts, Spanakopita - Freshly baked pie of filo pastry, feta, leeks, spinach, Moussaka (plant based option available)
  • Dessert: Baklava with nuts and honey & fresh, seasonal fruits bursting with flavour and antioxidants.

Non-Alcoholic Beverages - keep the clear head and energised body:

To complement the menu, we serve refreshing, sparkling water infused with mint and citrus, a chilled herbal iced tea “tsai tou vunou”, non-alcoholic beer and wine: white, rose and red.

Mediterranean Music:

As you relax into the peaceful atmosphere, the soft strains of Mediterranean music fill the air - gentle instrumental tunes with the sounds of a bouzouki or mandolin, setting a relaxed and joyful mood. The music is a subtle backdrop that enhances the feeling of being transported to a sun-dappled terrace by the sea.

Salad Making and Recipe Sharing:

The highlight of the day is the interactive activity of creating your own fresh, healthy salad. Led by an expert in Mediterranean cuisine, you’ll be guided through making a colorful, nutrient-packed salad that you can take home with you. The recipe is shared with everyone, along with tips on how to incorporate Mediterranean ingredients into your daily meals for a healthier lifestyle.

This is more than just a recipe—it’s an exploration of how food is part of a holistic lifestyle that nurtures both the body and the soul. The Mediterranean diet is based on fresh, seasonal ingredients, healthy fats like olive oil, lean proteins from fish and legumes, and a focus on mindful eating and communal meals.

Lawn Games and Conversations:

As you savour your meal, there are lawn games like connect four, badminton or frisbee to engage in—gentle movement that keeps the body active without any rush. It’s a perfect time for conversation, and the topic naturally drifts toward the Mediterranean way of life: how to live consciously, how to embrace the health benefits of a whole-food, plant-based diet, and how to prioritize self-care through mindful eating, physical activity, and meaningful connections.

People share insights about the Blue Zones—regions of the world where people live longest and healthiest—and how they embody the principles of slow, balanced living: plenty of plant-based foods, regular physical activity, strong social connections, and a deep appreciation for the present moment.

Living the Mediterranean Lifestyle:

As the afternoon unfolds, the discussions are both inspiring and lighthearted. There are reflections on how the Mediterranean lifestyle isn’t just about eating healthily, but about living consciously—savoring food, moving regularly, nurturing relationships, and living with gratitude and mindfulness. The conversation shifts to how we can integrate these principles into our busy lives, whether through simple changes to our diet, setting aside time to connect with loved ones, or spending more time outdoors.

A Conscious, Joyful Experience:

Our Mediterranean picnic  is a celebration of health, not just in what we eat but how we live. It’s about nurturing the body with nourishing food, the soul with connection, and the mind with knowledge. By the time the day comes to a close, you feel grounded, full of energy, and inspired to live with more intention, eating the Mediterranean way, and embracing the healthiest lifestyle possible. And with the recipe for that fresh salad in hand, you leave the event with not just the memory of a delightful afternoon but a meaningful step toward living consciously and healthfully.
