🌊 Epsom Flood Explorers: Treasure Hunt & Water Wise Adventure!

📍 Start from Epsom Library, explore surrounds and come back to Epsom Library
Ever wondered what’s happening beneath your feet when it rains?
Bring your tamariki (children) on a fun and educational treasure hunt around Epsom to discover the secret journey of water, learn about flooding, and how we can all help protect our communities!
🎒 You will become Flood Explorers — equipped with maps and clues to uncover hidden “treasures” and unlock the mystery of our waterways.
🌿 Along the way, we’ll visit local landmarks, learn about underground streams and stormwater, and finish with hands-on activities and refreshments back at the library.
✅ Suitable for families with children or those young at heart
✅ Free to attend, with goodie bags for participants
✅ Presented in English, with support available in Mandarin
👣 Join us for a morning of discovery, learning, and action — and become kaitiaki (guardians) of our environment!

This event is a part of Auckland Council's Making Space for Water.
Perfect for families with kids, this event leads tamariki on a fun walking route near Epsom Library, with interactive stops to uncover water-related “treasures” and solve clues.
Along the way, participants will learn:
💧 how water flows through our streets and parks
🌧 how to stay safe in heavy rain
🚸 what to do when paths are flooded
🎒 how to get prepared at home
The adventure ends back at the library with hands-on activities, flood safety tips, and refreshments.
Coming to the event please consider to:

By registering for the event, you acknowledge that you are physically fit for outdoor work for 1.5 hours.
If you have allergies or medical conditions, carry any necessary medication and you should also inform the event lead if required
Practice good hygiene and stay home if you’re sick.
Children Under 16 - We welcome younger participants; please ensure they are accompanied by an adult for safety.
In case of extreme weather condition, you will be notified of the cancellation.
