Four concerts, four opportunities to relax with friends and listen to music nestled beneath the Illawarra Escarpment. A magical place with musicians who will layer the space with their own kind of magic.

Saturday 5 December, we partner with SIMA to present the Zela Margossian Quintet (ZMQ). Jazz, Armenian rhythms and fearless improvisation, ZMQ brings its distinctive sound to Concert Across the Lawn. This exceptional ensemble is led by one of Australia’s most compelling jazz composers and pianists.

Saturday, 9 January, mezzo-soprano Mackenzie Lawrence and pianist John Martin present Songs in High Summer. From opera to musical theatre, art song to cabaret, two highly eclectic artists cross musical boundaries with wit, flair and a touch of mischief.

Saturday, 13 February, Kelvin Haisman & Ed Goyer present improvised dialogues for piano & vibraphone. Ed and Kelvin recorded together over twenty years ago and share a love of improvisation across all genres. They perform their arrangements of much-loved, lesser-known pieces from Contemporary repertoire, along with original compositions inspired by Latin rhythms and Jazz harmony. Kelvin is a Wombarra local and a well-known piano teacher in the Illawarra.

Come with family and friends and experience the joy of listening to music surrounded by nature. Watch the light fade and twilight settle in. Enjoy a nibble and a drink in one of the most unique concert spaces in the Illawarra. We provide light nibbles and drinks; feel free to bring your own supper. Chairs and rugs are available, but we encourage you to bring your own just in case. Numbers are limited to ensure that the event can go ahead regardless of the weather (usual seating is on the lawn; we move inside in case of rain).
