Calling all educators in Randwick, Waverley and Woollahra Council areas! Join us for a year of learning, networking, and hands-on experiences as part of the Eastern Suburbs Sustainable Schools Network.

Marine Life Rockpool Exploration - 17 March (complete)
Build a Frog Pond - Wednesday 18 June (complete)
Tour of Indigigrow Nursery - Wednesday 20 August (complete)
Ecoliteracy in Early Learning - Wednesday 5 November (tour and talk at Ballykin Rose Bay)
Term 4 - Nurturing nature connection with ecoliteracy
Join us for an inspiring talk and centre tour showcasing how Ballykin early learning educators integrate ecoliteracy into their programs.
Discover how this approach nurtures young children’s connection to nature, instilling a lasting sense of environmental responsibility and appreciation for the natural world. The centre's activities are based on 6 pillars:
Out and About ( Nature play)
Moving and Learning Outside ( Active outdoor play)
Green Thumbs ( Gardening)
Positive Interactions with Living Beings
Sustainable Use of Resources
First Nations Inspirations
Open to all educators in Randwick, Waverley and Woollahra Council areas.
When: 3.45 - 5.15pm | Wednesday 5 November
Where: Ballykin Early Learning Centre, 24 Dover Rd, Rose Bay
How to get there: Buses 386 from Bondi Junction, 324 or 325 from Edgecliff or Double Bay.
Parking: Free parking in surrounding streets (check for restrictions). Parking area nearby with 2 hour parking at 23 Dover Rd, Rose Bay.
About our Network
The Eastern Suburbs Sustainable Schools Network (ESSSN) is for educators from early learning to high school. Meeting each term, the Network provides free professional development on a wide range of topics, opportunities to connect with like-minded teachers from other schools and to hear from Council about the resources available to schools.
How to claim professional learning credit
Claim teacher professional learning accreditation for attending meetings. Teachers can register their participation through their NESA / Teacher Accreditation / ETAMS account under Elective Professional Development. The Course addresses the following Standards - "Standard 6 Engage in Professional Learning" - 6.2.2, 6.3.2 and 6.4.2.
