Event description

Are you an interested in establishing an Impact Business?  Do you have a Limited Liability Company but want a Charitable structure to accompany your Impact?

Then this is the workshop for you.

Larry Robins and Helen Price will outline the processes for setting up a Charity, Limited Liability Company and the basics of your accounting responsibilities between the two entities.  This is a practical workshop which aims to help Impact Businesses amplify their work using both legal structures.

Larry Robbins - not-for-profit.org.nz
Larry Robbins runs Not for Profit Resource – An independent resource for NZ charities & non-profit organisations (not-for-profit.org.nz) and provides co-operative support to Not for Profit (non-profit) organisations and charities in New Zealand and those considering establishing such bodies. He will outline the process for setting up a charity structure in detail and also go through services provided by NFP.

Helen Price - Director of Finance/Admin, Social Enterprise Auckland
Helen had a chartered accountancy practice in Auckland which she sold in 2013 to have a change in direction. She now has a much smaller practice which has allowed her to become more involved in organisations that have a more philanthropic focus.

In her practice she had seen that these enterprises often spent large amounts of their money on paying ‘professionals’ to meet their reporting obligations to funders and meeting other compliance requirements, when the money could be better spent on their core business. She decided that she could, with her experience, change this in a small way by providing these services on a pro bono basis.

She has now become involved with several not for profit organisations in Auckland.
