Event description

Ethical Clothing Australia x Fashion Revolution Week 2025 Event

Did you know that Australians buy more clothes per person than any other country? On average, we buy 56 new clothing items a year, which begs the question... who made your clothes and in what conditions were they made?

This year’s theme for Fashion Revolution Week is 'Think Global, Act Locally'. At Ethical Clothing Australia, our mission is to protect and uphold the rights of both local factory-based workers and outworkers within the Australian TCF industry. Globally, the TCF sector is at high risk of unethical labour, modern slavery and poor environmental practices.

In collaboration with Fashion Revolution, we'll be hosting a screening of the groundbreaking documentary, The True Cost (2015), which explores the dark side of the fast fashion supply chain. This will be followed by an insightful panel discussion hosted by our National Manager, Rachel Reilly that will explore relevant issues such as workers’ rights, ethical and local production in Australia, and the future of the Textile, Clothing and Footwear (TCF) industry.

To find out more, join us for the film screening and panel discussion.

Panellists to be announced shortly.
