Take a deep dive into Melbourne’s fashion and manufacturing industry on our Fitzroy Ethical Fashion Walking Tour! Led by slow fashion advocate Jenna Flood (@ironicminimalist), you will meet the makers and learn about ethical clothing production from industry experts.
Stops on the tour
- From design to production, Denimsmith is dedicated to the art of high-quality denim. Learn how their skilled local artisans craft the finest Japanese denim and shop in-store.
- The Social Studio is a hub of ethical fashion and manufacturing, with a focus on social change. Part educator, part retailer and part production house, learn how this not-for-profit social enterprise creates opportunities for refugee and new migrant communities in Melbourne.
- Get a behind-the-scenes look at how fashion is made at Sample Room. Hear how Julia Van Der Sommen and her team bring designs to life, guiding brands through the process of pattern making, sampling, grading and manufacturing in their Collingwood studio.
