Footprints' Presents Ethics & the Law in Behavioral Health a Five-Part CE Series
Description
Behavioral health professionals make decisions every day that carry ethical, clinical, and sometimes legal consequences. When is a referral simply a poor fit, and when does it become an ethical problem? How much of your own lived experience belongs in the room? What happens when AI becomes part of client care? And when someone asks for your records, do you know what you can legally release?
Ethics & the Law in Behavioral Health, presented by Footprints, Inc., is a five-part continuing education series designed to bring these questions out of the policy manual and into real-world practice. The series is created for substance use disorder counselors, peer specialists, and behavioral health clinicians and is taught by Dr. Stan Archie, PhD, JD, LPC, CRAADC, Clinical Director of Footprints, Inc., a licensed professional counselor and Juris Doctor.
Rather than approaching ethics and law as abstract rules, each session focuses on situations behavioral health professionals may have to think through in practice, from client engagement and referral decisions to boundaries, technology, confidentiality, and records.
