Event description

This series of two workshops aims to equip UTS staff and researchers with the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully identify and access EU funding opportunities.

Main Objectives of the workshops:

Capacity Building: Enhance the knowledge, skills and confidence of university staff and researchers in understanding EU funding opportunities, application processes, and project management.

Proposal Development: Provide training on developing competitive project proposals that align with EU funding priorities and requirements.

Networking and Collaboration: Foster networking and collaboration between UTS and other European institutions to facilitate partnerships and joint project proposals.

Project Management: Equip participants with the necessary tools and techniques to effectively manage EU-funded projects, including financial management, reporting, and compliance.

Sustainability: Ensure the long-term sustainability of UTS European research activities by establishing a network of EU funding experts who can continue to support and train future generations of researchers.

Workshop 1 (4-5:30pm, Monday 14 July)

1. To understand the mechanisms, principles and requirements related to EU funding and key current and future EU funding programs including how to engage/ prepare for Framework 10.

2. To identify possible sources of funding to match a concept idea, capability and build solid partnerships with EU collaborators.

3. To develop an efficient strategy, in which potential EU funding is an integral part of the overall research, impact and research partnering strategy of the organisation/institution.

Workshop 2 (4-5:30pm, Wednesday 16 July)

1. To set up an effective approach for developing and drafting a proposal within a given deadline for lead and non-lead proposals.

2. How to draft competitive proposals to be funded by the EU.

3. To understand the ins and outs of managing/ being involved in an EU project.

4. To understand the key insights (beyond guidelines and criteria) in successfully applying for EU funding
