Every Bite: Love Your Kai - Te Puke Edition
Description
Kia ora and welcome to Every Bite - Te Puke edition with Envirohub BOP and COLAB
This is a food waste prevention programme designed to help households cut back on their food waste and save money in the process!
This four-week programme provides you with the tools, support and, most importantly, the motivation to monitor your food waste, as well as loads of tips, tricks, and tasty recipes for keeping your kai in date and on your plates. It’s super easy and with the average household throwing away more than $1300 worth of food a year, a few small tweaks to your daily habits can make a big difference to your household food waste and your grocery bill.
Remember! This is a “zero-judgement” programme. We are all at different stages on our journey to live more lightly.
What’s included over 4 weeks:
Launch Event: Cooking demo and shared meal together to inspire you for what's ahead.
Tips, Tricks & Recipes: Practical resources to help reduce food waste and make the most of your ingredients.
Thursday bonus sessions: Each Thursday afternoon in May there will be the opportunity to come together and learn some new skills, be that in how you shop, or in cooking demonstrations, there will be fun, food and community.
Prizes: Opportunities to win fun prizes, kitchen goodies, gift cards and a whole lot more.
Community Connections & Resources: Build connections with fellow participants and learn about local community group initiatives.
Wrap-Up Event: Celebrate your progress, share tips, and enjoy kai together with your new foodie friends!
Throughout the four weeks, you’ll have access to a private group chat to ask questions, share wins, and connect with your community, as well as our Every Bite Pantry Portal, packed with resources, tips, and recipes.
Important dates:
Launch Event | Thursday April 30, 5:30pm - The Daily Café
We’ll be coming together for an evening of connection, inspiration, and delicious food. The evening will begin with an introduction to the programme and what’s ahead for the month, followed by a fun cooking demo with local chef Carl Tinnion. You’ll leave feeling inspired, equipped with practical ideas, and ready to make the most of your ingredients at home. You will walk away with full bellies as this includes dinner.
While this session is designed for adults, please get in touch if not bringing the kids would prevent you from attending. More details coming soon.
Wrap-Up Event | Thursday May 28, 5:30pm - location TBC
Celebrate your progress, share experiences, and enjoy a meal together. Family and kids are warmly welcome to join!
Please note: These two events are a required part of the programme, so make sure you’re available and pop them in your calendar before registering 😊
Every Thursday evening in between these dates, we’ll also be running optional foodie workshops, exclusive to the Te Puke programme, more details to come!
