Description

Want to write your memoir?

This workshop will guide you in the crafting of a compelling short memoir by delving into your past, refining your narrative voice, and understanding the shades between perception and reality in storytelling. Through a series of exercises and discussions, you will learn to shape an engaging piece.

Learning outcomes

As part of this workshop, you will:

  • Find a story to tell
  • Choose what to leave in and what to take out
  • Develop real-life characters into real-life settings
  • Write what you know, and research what you don't.

Format

This is an in-person workshop with a focus on writing craft; it will be held at State Library of Queensland. This workshop is designed with a focus on beginner writers of memoir and narrative non-fiction, but is suitable for writers of all levels and backgrounds.
