LICC Lunchtime Sessions: Prepare for an Everyday Adventure this Christmas

Every year, hundreds of churches and thousands of Christians join our Advent series.
This year's theme is 'Everyday Adventure' – a dedicated time to discover how much our everyday lives matter to God.
To help you prepare, LICC’s church team is hosting a lunchtime webinar for leaders this October. Join us for practical tips on getting the most from our devotional journeys, sermon outlines, video messages, and graphics.
Advent leads us all to a wonderful celebration on Christmas Day. But it also points beyond Jesus’ birth, offering an adventure every day.
Throughout the season of Advent, this year's devotional journey will help you explore exactly that. As we wait for Christ to come, we’ll discover that in the waiting there is a calling, and that in the calling there’s an everyday adventure.
Over 25 readings, we’ll consider four key themes:
Anticipation: the adventure in waiting for good news to come
Investigation: the adventure of finding our way to the truths of Jesus
Invitation: the adventure of playing our part in God’s plan today
Exploration: the adventure of discovering more about following Jesus every day

Ken Benjamin
Director of Church Relationships, LICC Formerly President of Baptists Together (the Baptist Union of Great Britain), Ken joined LICC in September 2020. He is a leading voice in the whole-life discipleship movement, with a reputation as both a trusted leader and an engaging speaker. He brings a wealth of whole-life disciplemaking experience to LICC, having spent over 20 years as senior minister at Chichester Baptist Church. He’s perfectly placed to get alongside church leaders and help them equip their congregations to take their faith outside the building and into the places where God sends them. As Director of Church Relationships at LICC, Ken is responsible for leading our church-facing work, helping fuel a sustainable whole-life disciplemaking culture in the UK church. His areas of expertise include how to integrate a whole-life culture into all aspects of church strategy and thinking; how to embed that culture in the church for the long term; and the missional effectiveness of whole-life discipleship. Ken is the author of the book Vital Signs, which unpacks 20 practical ways churches can embed whole-life disciplemaking, and forms part of our flagship resource for church leaders. He’s married to Sue, and they have two adult children. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and tennis as well as time away in his VW camper.
Steve Rouse
Church Team Director, LICC Thought leader, church leader – Steve’s got it all. Not only is he the much-loved Director of the LICC Church Team, he’s also Senior Pastor at Balham Baptist Church in south London. With over two decades of experience in church leadership and a career in the building trade before that, Steve’s perfectly placed to speak to the intersection between church life and our everyday frontlines. He speaks, consults and writes on behalf of LICC, and oversees strategic projects with church networks to fuel whole-life disciplemaking across the UK. He’s currently leading a three-year field research project on how churches can sustain a whole-life focus for the long term. Steve’s areas of expertise include changing church culture, preaching through a whole-life lens, and growing whole-life disciples of Jesus Christ. Outside the office, he likes to stay fit and ride his motorbike.

Tickets are refundable 1 week prior to the event. After that timeframe tickets are not refundable.
