Event description

A series of events where international students can learn more about Australian culture, accents, and all the things that will help you maximise your experience in Australia.

A lot of international students get a cultural shock when they first come to Australia. In these series of events, we want to introduce international students to Australian accents, Australian culture, and some soft skills that will help them assimilate into Australian culture and University life.


Event 1: How to speak Australian English! 

Date: 27th of January 2022 

Time: 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm

In this event, we are going to teach international students how to speak in Australian English. Pete, founder of Aussie English has helped thousands of people across the world speak and communicate better in Australian English.

The event structure would be a mix of talk, online games, and breakout rooms where attendees can first learn Australian accents and late practice what they have learned during the workshop.

Event 2: Australian Culture 101

Date: 3rd February 2022

Time: 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm

A lot of international students get a cultural shock when they first come to Australia. In this event, we want to introduce international students to Australian history, Australian culture, and some soft skills that will help them assimilate into Australian culture.


Event 3: Surviving University 101

Date: 10th February 2022

Time: 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm

A lot of international students in Australia talk about how it would be better if they knew more about assignments & plagiarism. In this event, we want to help students understand how university clubs and societies work, and invite some student leaders who can share their experiences running universities clubs & societies.
