Whether you want to renew or acquire new skills, are seeking a career change, or hope to start working in hospitality, this is the course for you!


We're excited to partner with Communities for Work Plus and Adult Learning Wales again to offer our free 2024 Hospitality Training Academy! Gain essential hospitality skills and accreditation for employment through our friendly, face-to-face course at Ebbw Vale Institute. Perfect for school leavers, business owners (and their team), those looking to retrain, and anyone interested in hospitality!

The course covers:

  • L2 Food Safety in Catering (20th Feb)
  • L2 Health & Safety in the Workplace (21st Feb)
  • In house Barista Training (27th Feb)
  • L2 Fire Safety (28th Feb)
  • L3 Emergency First Aid (5th March)
  • L2 Customer Services (6th March)
  • L2 COSHH (12th March)
  • In house Practical Maths for Hospitality (13th March)
  • L2 Safe Moving & Handling (19th & 20th March)

This training opportunity is funded by the UK Government* and is free of charge to people living in Blaenau Gwent aged 16+. We strongly encourage you to attend the entire course and complete the academy. Click here for full course details, please read before you register!

EVI are able to offer a range of follow up and further development opportunities such work experience or volunteering within the Centre. Communities For Work Plus can provide you with a personal mentor who can apply for funding to help remove hurdles such as transport, training, and childcare to get you the job you need. (T&Cs apply). Lunch and refreshments will be provided free of charge throughout the course.
