Event description

Launching the Evie Whipps DIPG Foundation in Sydney in the brightest way possible

🌞

Enjoy a day of dressing up and lunching with beautiful women and mothers who want to save our future children from suffering the way Evie did with the deadliest childhood brain cancer there is, DIPG

💛

The Rose Garden is a beautiful space which is often described as the Hamptons and Greece meet Bella Vista Hotel.

Be greeted by a glass of sparkling wine for your Traditional High Tea Lunch;

- Homemade scones with strawberry jam and chantilly cream
- Chefs selection of finger sandwiches, savoury pastries and petit fours.
- Accompanied by freshly brewed coffee or tea.
- And for something a little fun, Cocktail Jugs.

Evies Mum Pia will tell her story of the shocking diagnosis of her 10 year old daughter, learning to be fully present in life, Evies beautiful values and her eventual sad death, as well as the plight of the DIPG kids and their families. She will share her incredible story of growth through horrendous adversity and how you can help to keep our future children from suffering the same fate.

The first big goal for the Foundation is to raise $520,000 to fund a research fellowship for a scientist who will work for Matt Dun PhD, to help to create treatments for our kids, so that they might eventually have hope.

There is so much research going into DIPG but our government does not fund nearly enough to make a difference, so we decided to take this into our own hands.

We have had the most amazing support from the beautiful people of this country for our family, and now we reach out once more to help fund real life changes for future children diagnosed with DIPG.

It is unacceptable to think that a child that you have, or that you know, will be diagnosed with this horrendous cancer without having any hope.

The $520,000 would cover the cost to provide salary to a Postdoctoral Research Fellow within the Cancer Signalling Research Group at University of Newcastle.
The Fellow would be an 'academic' staff member who has completed a PhD (3-4 years) in their area of expertise, as well as their undergraduate degree.

We thank you for all of your support and if you have a business that would like to donate a raffle or auction item, please contact Pia at piawhipps@gmail.com

If you have samples with an offer/discount attached you'd like included for the goodie bags, please also contact Pia at piawhipps@gmail.com
