🏎 Put your EV to the test in Auckland's Electric Vehicle Showdown 🏎

Every October, EVolocity students from across New Zealand get together to showcase their vehicle designs and compete on the track against other schools and clubs within their region at our annual Regional Final event series.

And now, it's your turn, Auckland! 

Join us for an electrifying and action-packed day on October 19th, featuring:

• drag racing

• gymkhana/slalom

• efficiency and endurance challenges

• 'just for fun’ racing experiences.

Special awards will also recognise achievements in innovation, engineering excellence, sustainability, and overall team/vehicle theme!

Bring your whānau and friends along for the ultimate electric vehicle race day in Auckland.

Entry is free, offering a great opportunity to check out our programme, cheer on local rangatahi, and see if you want to join the EVolocity competition for 2026. 

We’re also excited to invite small number of visiting teams from other regions to be part of this year's event!

For those of you coming from outside the region, this is an opportunity to gain extra track experience, connect with other teams, and celebrate all your mahi - but your results on the day won’t count toward competition scoring. You’ll still be recognised for attending, and we hope it adds to the learning and inspiration ahead of your own regional final!

In addition to the awesome racing, you can:

• Meet New Zealand rally driver, Emma Gilmour, who was McLaren Racing's first ever female factory driver

• Watch our winners go head-to-head in a race against our event sponsors

• Book the ACE Motorsport go-karts, Auckland's fastest rental karts, available for racing from 3:30 - 7pm

• Experience racing like a pro in a rally car racing simulator

• Connect with inspiring professionals from various industries

• Discover career and study options at the University of Auckland

• Test drive a MeloYelo e-bike

• Chat with the UoA FSAE team who are working on their own electric race car

• See NZ made 3D printer filament put to use by the talented Eva and Bill of KiwiFil and hear about their exciting journey in the EV world

• Enjoy food and coffee from the LilyWorld Cafe on site. Play 9 hole mini putt, and relax in the garden bar.

It's a day of innovation, excitement, and fun, where students come together to showcase their talent, learn from each other, and race towards a brighter, sustainable future.
