Excursion to SERCUL (South East Regional Centre for Urban Landcare) in Beckenham

9:15-12 noon
9:15 arrival and check in
9:30-12:00 2 sessions (break in between)
For: Years 3-6 students
Please note that there is limited space at the SERCUL venue: siblings who are not participants in this year group range, are NOT able to be accommodated.

Content:
Aquatic Weeds
Learn about the environmental problems that occur when plants from ponds and aquariums are released into drains and waterways to become weeds.
We will take a walk around Yule Brook to see if we can spot any of these weeds.
Go Fish:
Go ‘fishing’ and discover what fish are found in the freshwater sections of the rivers and other waterways around Perth.
Fin out what affects our native fish is discussed and students help to create healthy fish habitat.
Learn what we can all do to look after our native fish and our waterways is also covered.
