Exeter Community Assembly on Transport
Event description
Westminster-style party politics isn’t working for ordinary people, our families, our communities or nature. We have to upgrade our failing democracy and it has to be people-powered. There is a plan, and it involves you!
A community assembly is where local people come together, discuss what matters to them, and come up with a plan to improve things. On 4th August we will be focusing on the issue of transport in Exeter. We will be working with local groups and organisations to design and deliver this assembly. If this is you, please get in touch with us at exeterhumanity@gmail.com - we would love to hear from you.
There will be free refreshments, and children are welcome. The room is wheelchair accessible, and let us know if you will need any support to make the assembly accessible for you.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday 4th August at 2:00pm at The Beacon Centre, Pendragon House, Beacon Lane, Exeter, EX4 8LZ.
Why community assemblies?
- Energise and empower local communities
- Organise to take creative action to achieve change
- Build community resilience through human connection
- Create a nationwide movement that changes the way decisions are made at every level
Decision making by community assemblies avoids corrupt politicians, big business lobbying, media misinformation, and the distortions created by party politics.
