Exhibition Opening - Colours On My Mind
Event description
Dive into a world of vibrant colour from a unique perspective in Colours On My Mind, Aimee Dickson’s most ambitious exhibition to date!
Though non-verbal, Aimee Dickson’s art speaks volumes. Her bold and joyful creations offer a unique window into her inner world. Diagnosed with autism in early childhood, Aimee uses art as her voice, crafting works with a distinctive style.
Twenty four pen and pencil drawings, bursting with colour, will feature alongside a 3-meter mural inspired by Aimee’s fascination with the underwater world. Aimee transforms everyday objects and creatures — flowers, animals, and people — into extraordinary visions through an uninhibited use of colour. Her love for water is evident not only in her captivating mural, created from her underwater drawings, but also in her unique acrylic pouring technique.
This exhibition is a testament to the power of collaboration. Discover how Aimee’s family, mentors, and the Northcliffe community have nurtured Aimee’s artistic journey, supporting her creative spirit from her earliest beginnings to this exciting milestone.
Immerse yourself in Aimee’s vibrant vision. Colours On My Mind invites you to experience the world through her eyes and celebrate the joy of artistic expression.
