Event description

Exhibition Opening

Entwined Sisters is a collaborative exhibition by Ailsa Walsh and Krystal Hurst, two Indigenous artists and sisters exploring the transformative power of adornment in expressing identity and womanhood. Rooted in the cultural significance of the kitchen table—a place of making, sharing, and storytelling among Aboriginal women—the exhibition moves ‘from the table to the walls’, reflecting personal and collective experiences through mixed media. Created on Yuggera land, their works imagine and reimagine Indigenous adornment as both cultural expression and living memory—giving voice to the wearer and honouring the interwoven stories of Country, culture, and kinship.

Join Ailsa Walsh and Krystal Hurst for their hands-on jewellery workshop, Threads of Culture on Sunday 10 August, from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM.
